Ukrainian special forces strike Russia's Novorossiysk oil terminal, S-300/400 system VIDEO
On November 14, Alpha special-forces operatives of Ukraine’s Security Service, together with the Main Intelligence Directorate and the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, carried out a special operation targeting the oil terminal of the Novorossiysk seaport and an S-300/400 air-defence system.
The attack damaged oil-loading berths, pipeline infrastructure and pumping facilities, and a large fire continues to burn at the oil terminal, UNIAN reports, citing sources in the SBU.
"The SBU, together with the Security and Defense Forces, continues to reduce dollar revenues to the Russian budget. Every oil refinery or oil terminal that is hit means millions of dollars less for the Kremlin's war machine. We will continue to deprive the aggressor of resources until it loses the ability to wage this war," adds an informed source in the SBU.
It has also been confirmed that positions of an S-300/400 system at military unit 1537 in Novorossiysk were hit.
A powerful detonation was recorded after the strikes.
The Novorossiysk oil terminal, including the strategic Sheskharis complex, is one of Russia’s most important Black Sea export hubs, handling a significant share of the country’s crude and oil-products shipments to global markets.
Because of its role in sustaining Russia’s energy revenues, disruptions or attacks on the Novorossiysk facilities pose a direct risk to the country’s export capacity and have previously caused fluctuations in global oil prices when critical infrastructure was damaged.
