Ukrainian troops undergo EU military training in Poland PHOTO
Ukrainian servicemen are undergoing military training in Poland as part of the European Union Military Assistance Mission (EUMAM), aimed at strengthening the combat capabilities of Ukraine’s armed forces amid the ongoing war with Russia.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the exercises are taking place at Polish military training grounds under the coordination of the multinational CAT-C command, Caliber.Az reports.
The programme focuses primarily on the training of platoon commanders, engineering units and mid-level officers. Instructors are working to improve the troops’ ability to manage units, make decisions in rapidly changing combat conditions and enhance tactical autonomy at lower command levels.
Specialised courses have also been organized for sappers, drone operators, riflemen and armoured vehicle maintenance personnel, while basic military training remains a permanent component of the program.
The Ukrainian military said the initiative is intended to boost the operational readiness and effectiveness of its forces as the country continues to defend itself against Russia’s full-scale invasion.
Kyiv also expressed gratitude to Poland and other European Union member states for their continued military support and contribution to strengthening the combat readiness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The EU launched the EUMAM mission in 2022 to provide large-scale training and assistance to Ukrainian troops following Russia’s invasion.
