UN official points out religious leaders’ role in achieving Azerbaijan-Armenia peace
High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Miguel Ángel Moratinos, who is on a visit to Baku has underlined the role of religious leaders in achieving peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia as he met with Chairman of Caucasus Muslims Office Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade.
“The role of religious leaders is crucial in achieving peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia,” Moratinos noted, Report informs.
Sheikhulislam praised the UN's contribution to the process of interreligious dialogue across the globe. He emphasized that Moratinos' participation in the upcoming 6th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku will make an important contribution to the intercultural and interreligious dialogue.
The High Representative of the UN Alliance of Civilizations noted the important role of religious leaders in achieving peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The sides exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
