US airstrikes on Yemen's capital claim 53 lives, including children
The death toll from US airstrikes on Yemen's capital, Sana'a, has risen to 53, with reports indicating that five of the victims were children.
According to a statement from the Houthi-controlled Ministry of Health, the strikes also left 98 others wounded, including nine women and children, Caliber.Az reports per Turkish media.
The Ministry condemned the US-led attacks, describing them as "full-scale war crimes," adding that such actions further tarnish the US's criminal record in the region.
The airstrikes are part of a broader campaign that has targeted various provinces in Yemen, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the war-torn country. The US has yet to comment on the latest escalation.
This latest attack follows months of heightened tensions in Yemen, where the ongoing conflict between the Saudi-led coalition and Houthi rebels has resulted in thousands of civilian casualties. The international community continues to call for an end to the violence and for renewed efforts towards peace talks.
