US ambassador summoned to Turkish Foreign Ministry

US Ambassador to Turkiye, Jeff Flake, was summoned to the Turkish Foreign Ministry on May 22 in connection with a statement by the US diplomatic mission about the security measures being taken at an opposition rally in Istanbul.

The information was reported to TASS by an unnamed source in the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

“Our dissatisfaction was expressed to Ambassador Flake over the warnings ahead of the rally, which contained unfounded allegations about the measures taken by our security forces at such rallies,” the source said.
