US envoy Waltz: Iran’s UN ambassador may soon seek asylum
US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz stated that Iran’s UN ambassador could soon request asylum.
In an interview with Fox News, he described Tehran’s longstanding hostility and said President Donald Trump’s response represents a decisive break from what he called an “endless” conflict.

Waltz added that he would not be surprised if the Iranian ambassador to the UN requests asylum soon, as he represents a regime that has terrorised the region and killed tens of thousands of its own citizens.
The ambassador emphasised that the struggle with Iran has spanned decades—47 years of conflict driven by Tehran’s antagonism toward the United States—and that current operations reflect an effort to end this cycle of hostility.
“It’s been a 47‑year endless war, started with Jimmy Carter… and President Trump is taking the bold action to end it," he added.
