US reports minimal damage from Iranian retaliatory strikes
The United States has assessed the damage to its facilities following Iranian retaliatory strikes. According to the US Central Command (CENTCOM) on X, the damage was minimal and did not affect the course of ongoing operations.
No reports of casualties or injuries among American personnel have been received. Targets included air defence systems, launchers, military airfields, and command posts of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
CENTCOM stated that high-precision munitions were used in the first hours of the operation from sea, air, and land.
“Additionally, CENTCOM’s Task Force Scorpion Strike employed low-cost one-way attack drones for the first time in combat,” the command added.
On the morning of February 28, Israel carried out a strike on Iran, calling it “preemptive.” The attack was confirmed by Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz. The New York Times, citing sources, reported US involvement in the strikes on Tehran.
In response to Israeli and US aggression, Iran attacked Israeli territory and American military bases in several Middle Eastern countries, including the UAE and Qatar. The IRGC emphasized that Tehran’s retaliatory actions will continue until the enemy is fully defeated.
