US Senate to hold national security hearings focused on Iran
The US Senate will hold its annual Intelligence Committee hearings on March 18, during which senators will question key national security advisors to President Donald Trump.
The operation against Iran and its consequences are expected to dominate the discussions, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
Democrats have previously expressed frustration over the lack of congressional briefings and have pushed for open hearings rather than closed sessions.
Some senators are reportedly considering possible next steps for the administration, including a potential expansion of the military operation.
Committee Chairman, Republican Senator Tom Cotton, described US actions as successful but noted that achieving the stated objectives will take time.
Similar hearings in the House Intelligence Committee are scheduled for March 19.
