US-South Korea joint military drills to feature simulated nuclear strike against DPRK
According to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the armed forces of South Korea and the United States are planning to conduct a joint military exercise, known as the Ulchi Freedom Shield.
The drills will include practising a scenario involving the use of nuclear weapons against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
The KCNA report describes the upcoming exercise, scheduled for August, as a "nuclear strike drill" due to its scale and nature. It warns that the manoeuvres will involve the deployment of advanced military equipment, including strategic assets, with the aim of fully implementing the final stage of nuclear war plans.
The commentary further suggests that these exercises undermine the credibility of the United States claims of having no hostile intentions, characterizing such statements as hypocritical deception.
