Uzbek president to visit Georgia for talks on trade, cooperation
At the invitation of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a state visit to Georgia on July 2–3, the official website of the Uzbek president announced.
The program in Tbilisi includes talks with Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
The agenda will focus on further strengthening Uzbek-Georgian friendship and expanding multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
The sides are expected to review practical aspects of enhancing political dialogue, expanding inter-parliamentary and interregional ties, and boosting trade and economic cooperation, as well as intensifying cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
Special attention will be given to joint projects in industry, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, agriculture, tourism, energy, and the IT sector.
Priorities will also include cooperation in transport and logistics, along with efforts to expand the geographical reach of national exports.
The leaders are also expected to exchange views on current international and regional developments.
Following the summit, a substantial package of bilateral agreements covering various areas of cooperation is expected to be signed.
