Warsaw rejects massive allocation for Board of Peace membership
Poland’s government has firmly ruled out allocating $1 billion from the state budget for participation in the Board of Peace, a body established by US President Donald Trump, Finance Minister Andrzej Domański confirmed.
In an interview with Rzeczpospolita, Domański emphasized that Poland faces far more pressing financial priorities than membership in the Peace Board.
"First of all, any international agreement requires a decision by the Council of Ministers, and such a decision does not exist today. Secondly, we are talking about very serious legal obligations that need to be thoroughly analyzed. To answer directly: there is certainly no $1 billion in the budget for this. There are more important tasks that need funding than participation in this body," the minister said.
Domański further highlighted that Poland is confronting multiple domestic challenges that demand careful and efficient management of public finances. With socio-economic needs continuing to grow, he stressed that spending such a substantial sum on international participation is unjustifiable.
