Western leaders convene in Munich for key security talks
Senior European and international officials have convened in Munich for the annual Munich Security Conference, a central forum for discussions on global security challenges. Among this year’s notable participants is European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, joining the conference for the first time.
The gathering also includes Kurdistan’s Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani, the United Kingdom’s delegation led by Secretary of State for Defence, John Healey, German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius, a US delegation, and other high-ranking officials from around the world, Novini.LIVE reports.
The conference is expected to focus on pressing issues such as European security, the ongoing support for Ukraine amid continued conflict, and the coordination of allied policies in response to complex and evolving global threats.
Organizers describe the forum as a platform for both bilateral and multilateral engagements, with discussions aimed at fostering cooperation among NATO allies, European partners, and key international stakeholders. Participants are expected to explore strategies to strengthen collective defence, address emerging security challenges, and reinforce the transatlantic alliance in a rapidly changing geopolitical landscape.
