World Bank ready to cooperate with Azerbaijan in efficient water use

Azerbaijani water supplier, Azersu Open Joint Stock Company, may start cooperation with the World Bank as part of efficient water use.

The announcement was made at a meeting with the WB delegation in Azersu OJSC, according to Report.

During the meeting, preliminary consultations were held on reports on climate change, as well as a discussion of the transition to green development in Azerbaijan.

Teyyub Jabbarov, First Deputy Chairman of Azersu OJSC, noted that a commission on the efficient use of water resources has been established in the country and important work has been carried out in compliance with the approved Action Plan.

Andrea Liverani, Sustainable Development Programme Leader at the World Bank, expressed their readiness to cooperate on issues of water efficiency, the impact of climate change on water resources, wastewater treatment, and reuse.
