Yemeni forces launch three strikes on vessels in Red, Arabian seas
The Yemeni Armed Forces have announced the execution of three military operations targeting vessels in the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, and Bab al-Mandab.
In a statement released on October 28, Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e, spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, detailed the attacks, Caliber.Az reports per Yemeni media.
He confirmed that the first operation targeted the vessel SC MONTREAL in the southern Arabian Sea, deploying two drones.
According to Brigadier General Sare’e, the second operation involved a cruise missile strike on the ship MAERSK KOWLOON, also located in the Arabian Sea.
In a separate incident, the third operation targeted the ship MOTARO in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab, utilising multiple ballistic missiles to deliver precise strikes on all three targets.
The Yemeni Armed Forces stated that these actions were a response to ship-owning companies allegedly violating a ban on entering ports in occupied Palestinian territories.
The Armed Forces further highlighted their readiness to enforce a naval blockade and to target assets associated with Israel in occupied Palestine. They indicated that these operations would only cease if hostilities are stopped, the blockade of Gaza is lifted, and military actions against Lebanon come to an end.
In concluding their statement, the Yemeni Armed Forces praised the successes of the Islamic resistance in Lebanon and the resilience of the resistance in Gaza.
Thus, the announcement comes as the Yemeni Armed Forces mark the second year of their involvement in what they call the "Battle of the Promised Conquest and Holy Jihad." They emphasised that these operations would continue until the assaults on Gaza and Lebanon are brought to an end.
In a recent address, Yemen's revolutionary leader, Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi, reaffirmed Yemen’s support for Palestine. He claimed that 196 ships linked to Israeli, American, and British interests have been targeted. Al-Houthi further stated that recent operations involved the deployment of 25 ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as drones, underscoring Yemen’s ongoing support for occupied Palestine.
