Yerevan requests Georgia’s approval to shift strategic gas route
Armenia has formally requested Georgia’s approval to relocate a 5.5-kilometre section of a gas pipeline that serves as a key route for natural gas supplies to the country, according to Georgian media reports cited by Caliber.Az.
The plan предусматривает shifting the pipeline by several kilometres and connecting it to a newly constructed section built by the Armenian side.
An application for the project has already been submitted to the Environmental Supervision Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, which oversees infrastructure and environmental compliance.
The pipeline is a critical part of Armenia’s energy supply system, as the country receives natural gas from Russia through Georgian territory.
