Zelenskyy honours Ukrainian border guards with state awards

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has honoured the 1st Border Guard Detachment and the 23rd Marine Guard Detachment of the State Border Service with state awards.

"On the Day of Defenders and Defenders of Ukraine, Colonel Maxim Balagur, who during February-March 2022 carried out combat missions to repel the enemy, evacuate the wounded, cover the units of the SBSU and the AFU, received the military distinction 'Cross of Military Merit'," State Border Guard Service (SBSU) said in Telegram on October 15, Anadolu Agency reported.

The 1st Border Guard Detachment and the 23rd Sea Guard Detachment of the State Border Service have been awarded insignia "For Courage and Valour".
