Deadly attack on Azerbaijani embassy in Iran

At about 8:30 am on January 27, an armed attack was committed on the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran! When the attack was repelled, an employee of the Azerbaijani law enforcement agencies responsible for the protection of the embassy heroically died, and another was injured.

Currently, the Azerbaijani side is conducting an urgent investigation and additional information will be provided, according to Caliber.Az.

We hope that the special services of Iran itself are not behind this attack. In any case, an investigation is ongoing and more information will be released.

Meanwhile, Baku-based news website Bizim Media reported that the suspected attacker was detained. The attacker is alleged to be an Armenian national.

The head of the embassy's security service, Orkhan Asgarov, was shot dead, while two others were wounded in the attack, the report added.
