Iran signals shift in cooperation with UN nuclear watchdog
12 July 2025 18:00
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced on July 12 that the country’s cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) “will take on a new form,” in response to a recently passed law suspending certain ties with the UN nuclear watchdog.
Araghchi clarified that while Iran’s cooperation with the IAEA has not ceased, it will now be conducted under different terms, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
“Our cooperation with the agency has not stopped, but will take on a new form,” said Araghchi, adding that requests to monitor nuclear sites “will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis... taking into account safety and security issues.”
