IRI survey shows Armenia’s PM leads in public trust ratings
New survey data released by the International Republican Institute (IRI) shows Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan as the most trusted political figure in Armenia.
Respondents were asked to name their two most trustworthy political and public figures in a nationwide telephone survey conducted between May 5 and May 11, Caliber.Az reports per Armenian media.
Pashinyan received 27% as the first choice and 2% as the second choice, giving him a total of 29%.
Other political figures followed with significantly lower trust ratings. Samvel Karapetyan, leader of the “Strong Armenia” bloc, received a total of 9% (6% first choice, 3% second choice). Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan received 5% overall.
Former president Robert Kocharyan received 4%, while several other figures—including Gagik Tsarukyan, Alen Simonyan, Aram Sargsyan, Gurgen Simonyan, and Arman Tatoyan—registered between 2% and 3% each.
Speaker of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan was among those included, with a total of 3%.
Overall, 6% of respondents named other individuals as their first choice and 8% as their second, amounting to 14%.
Notably, 40% of respondents said they trust no one, while 13% refused to answer the question, highlighting widespread public skepticism toward political figures.
