Türkiye responds to European Parliament's statement on so-called "Armenian genocide"

Turkish Foreign Ministry described the European Parliament's report on Armenia as groundless.

A statement to this effect was made by Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Tanju Bilgiç, Report says.

He rejected biased allegations in connection with Türkiye and the events of 1915.

"The European Parliament, in its report on 'EU-Armenia relations' of March 15, 2023, made unfounded allegations about our country and the events of 1915. These claims, which have nothing to do with historical facts and international law, are not valid for us.

Instead of making such unilateral and groundless claims, we call on the European Parliament to act in accordance with political etiquette and international law," Bilgiç said.
