Members of FETO terrorist organization try to infiltrate Türkiye from Greece
REGION 06 June 2023 - 16:21
The Turkish National Defence Ministry detain 29 people who tried illegally pass the state border from Greece to Turkiye.
According to Caliber.Az, the Ministry of National Defense announced this on its Twitter page.
Hudutlarımızda yasa dışı geçişlere karşı mücadelemiz sürüyor.

Hudut Kartallarımız, Yunanistan'dan ülkemize zorla gönderilmeye çalışılan 29 kişiyi yakaladı.

It was established that two of those arrested were fired from the police, two were suspended from teaching, one is a private entrepreneur, and the other is a salesman.
All are members of the terrorist organization FETO, the ministry added.
According to the Turkish Interior Ministry, FETO is an illegal organisation aiming to establish a new political, economic and social order, which has no relevance to Islam, by exploiting the religion.
Carrying out many criminal activities such as oppression, blackmail, threat, assassination, conspiracy, espionage, money laundering, and exploiting judicial power for its interests, FETO attacked directly and explicitly the nation's sovereign rights, democracy and the values of the Republic of Türkiye by going further in the treacherous coup attempt of July 15, 2016.
The deadly coup attempt in July 2016 marked a monumental turning point in Türkiye’s political history.
Türkiye witnessed the bloodiest coup attempt in its political history on July 15, 2016, when a section of the Turkish military launched a coordinated operation in several major cities to topple the government and unseat President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Soldiers and tanks took to the streets and a number of explosions rang out in Ankara and Istanbul.
The crowds resisted tank fire and air bombardments and, with the help of loyalist soldiers and police forces, they defeated the coup attempt in a matter of hours. The government swiftly declared victory and scores of troops that had taken part in the coup surrendered on the Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul.
Yet the overall price of victory was high: 241 people were killed and 2,194 others were injured.
The Turkish government blames the failed coup attempt on Fethullah Gulen, a Turkish preacher and businessman who has lived in self-imposed exile in the United States since 1999.
Gulen is the leader of a widespread and influential religious movement known as “Hizmet” (Service), which owns foundations, associations, media organisations and schools in Türkiye and abroad.
