Moscow hopes for constant supplies of humanitarian aid to Garabagh

    KARABAKH  18 September 2023 - 18:51

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova has said that Moscow is counting on the continuation of unimpeded and regular supplies of humanitarian aid to Garabagh through the Lachin and Aghdam routes.

"On 18 September, thanks to the efforts of the International Committee of the Red Cross, with the participation of the Russian peacekeeping contingent and the Russian Foreign Ministry, food and medical supplies were delivered to Garabagh simultaneously from both directions,” Zakharova said, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

“We expect unimpeded and regular humanitarian deliveries to continue in the interests of the local [Garabagh’s] population,” she hoped.

"We expect that the gradual improvement of the humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Garabagh will create conditions for the launch of dialogue between Baku and Stepanakert [Khankendi] and the resumption of paced work on the implementation of the entire set of trilateral agreements of the leaders at the highest level in 2020-2022 on the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations,” the diplomat said.

“We are fully interested in maintaining peace and stability in the South Caucasus," she added.

For its part, we, Caliber.Az, note that the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry continues to call the Azerbaijani town of Khankendi a non-existent name.
