Special Representative of the Azerbaijani President in the liberated territories of the Garabagh Economic Region (except for Shusha District) Emin Huseynov has said that
Over 50 years will be required to clear the de-occupied Azerbaijani territories from over 1 million landmines planted by Armenians.
Huseynov made the remarks at the forum organised in Baku over World Habitat Day, Report informs.
He noted that buildings and cultural monuments were destroyed, and enormous damage was caused to the environment during 30-year-long occupation.
“During the occupation, Azerbaijani cities were razed to the ground. We call it urbicide,” the special representative said.
Huseynov added that tens of hectares of forests were also destroyed during the years of occupation.
