Brazilian ambassador: Azerbaijan has undertaken extensive reconstruction in Karabakh
Azerbaijan has carried out large-scale reconstruction efforts in the territories freed from occupation, according to the Brazilian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Manuel Adalberto Carlos Montenegro Lopes da Cruz.
During his visit to the liberated areas, the ambassador praised the significant progress made in rebuilding Karabakh, highlighting the rapid establishment of high-level infrastructure, Caliber.Az reports per domestic media.
He added, "A major demining operation is underway, and substantial work is being carried out to accelerate the return of displaced persons to their homes."
The ambassador’s comments underscore Azerbaijan’s commitment to rebuilding the region and facilitating the return of those affected by the conflict.
Note that a delegation of foreign diplomats accredited in Azerbaijan visited Khankendi on April 18 as part of a familiarisation tour of the Karabakh region. The group, which included ambassadors and senior advisers, was briefed on the ongoing reconstruction efforts and current developments in the area, with a focus on the recent reintegration of the territory.
One of the key highlights of the visit was a tour of Karabakh University, where diplomats were provided with insights into the institution’s academic programmes and its role in the region’s educational and cultural revitalisation.
Following the visit to Khankendi, the diplomatic delegation moved on to Shusha, where they are set to explore significant cultural landmarks, including the Ashaghi Govhar Agha Mosque, Karabakh Street, and the first residential complex built in the city. The trip aims to offer diplomats a first-hand understanding of the changes and progress in the region.
