Belarusian delegation amazed by pace of Karabakh restoration
The Belarusian delegation, which arrived in Azerbaijan as part of the visit of the prime minister of Belarus, is amazed by the pace of restoration work in Karabakh, said Director General of the Minsk Automobile Plant Valery Ivankovich.
"Today we got acquainted with the restoration process in these territories, the work is being carried out actively and using innovations. We were amazed by the volume of investments and the scale of the work done," he said during a trip to Karabakh on May 6, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Ivankovich also noted that the Minsk Automobile Plant has long been present on the Azerbaijani market.
"Azerbaijan is one of the strategic partners, and in various areas. We have well-established cooperation with the Ganja plant in the matter of assembling cars and supplying components for them," he said.
The Belarusian delegation, led by Prime Minister Alexander Turchin, arrived in Baku on an official visit on May 5 before midday. As part of the visit, Prime Minister Turchin held an expanded meeting with Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov.
On May 6, the Belarusian head of government was received by President Ilham Aliyev in Baku. Later, the delegation travelled to the Fuzuli region, where they were briefed on the extensive destruction caused by Armenian forces during nearly 30 years of occupation. They were also informed about the large-scale reconstruction and development efforts undertaken by Azerbaijan following the liberation of the region.
From Fuzuli, the Belarusian delegation proceeded to the village of Gizil Kangarli in the Aghdam district, where the construction of a major agricultural holding is planned.
