The Guardian: No reason to oppose Garabagh's reintegration into Azerbaijan
There are no legally justified reasons to oppose Garabagh's reintegration into Azerbaijan.
Caliber.Az reports that this is stated in an article by Italian political scientist Nathalie Tocci for the British newspaper The Guardian.
The article notes that there is no doubt that Garabagh is within the officially recognized borders of Azerbaijan.
According to the author, Europe and the international community have never questioned this, and the war in Ukraine has once again emphasized the importance of sovereignty and territorial integrity as pillars of international law. Thus, there is no legally justified reason to oppose the reintegration of Garabagh into Azerbaijan.
The article also notes that Azerbaijan is not forcing the Armenian population to leave the region.
"Baku has offered to extend citizenship to all Karabakh Armenians who lay down their weapons and the political struggle for independence," Tocci writes.
