Azerbaijan regrets over biased speech of UK’s parliamentarian
The Azerbaijani delegation has responded to the anti-Azerbaijani statements made by Leader of the UK’s delegation John Whittingdale at the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly session.
Member of the Azerbaijani delegation Tahir Mirkishili expressed regret over the biased speech of the UK’s parliamentarian, Report informs.
Mirkishili said that the comparison between Ukraine and Armenia is unfounded, when the first lost 20 per cent of its territories, while the second once occupied 20 per cent of the Azerbaijani territories.
He also urged to make a distinction between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the lands of which were under Armenian occupation for almost 30 years.
“Such statements will not change the realities about Armenian aggression and its consequences, which Azerbaijan is trying to eliminate. Azerbaijan, as a multinational and multi-religious country, also contributes to the development of intercivilisational dialogue and peaceful coexistence of people professing different religions,” Mirkishili added.
