Azerbaijan, Türkiye join forces in major military exercises in Nakhchivan VIDEO
Azerbaijan and Türkiye have launched major joint military exercises in Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
The countries conducted a flag exchange ceremony in Nakhchivan as part of preparations for their upcoming joint military drills in a display of growing military cooperation, the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry told Caliber.Az.
The event marked the buildup to two major exercises: the "Indestructible Brotherhood-2025" computer-assisted command-staff exercise and the "Mustafa Kemal Atatürk-2025" live-fire tactical exercise. The Azerbaijani flag platoon marched from the Combined Arms Army Headquarters toward the Umid Bridge over the Araz River, near the Sadarak border checkpoint. Simultaneously, the Turkish flag platoon advanced from the Doghubeyazit district in Aghri province to the ceremony location.
The ceremony commenced with the performance of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan and the Independence March of Türkiye, symbolising the strong partnership between the two countries. Following the ceremony, military units and equipment involved in the exercises moved from the border checkpoint to Nakhchivan. According to official plans, tank, mechanised infantry, and commando units will undertake a variety of training and combat tasks, supported by artillery, air defence, and aviation forces throughout the exercises.
