Turkish Minister of Family and Social Services to visit Azerbaijan for Turkic States summit

Turkish Minister of Family and Social Services, Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, is set to visit Azerbaijan to attend a high-level summit of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS).

Minister Göktaş will attend the meeting of the OTS Ministers of Family and Social Policies, scheduled to take place in Baku on June 11–12, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Birol Akgün said, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

The summit will bring together senior officials from OTS member countries to discuss pressing social challenges and to strengthen cooperation on family welfare, child protection, and broader social policy across the Turkic world.

The 1st meeting of Ministers in charge of Family and Social Policy of the OTS was held on May 16-17, 2024 in Istanbul with the participation of the heads of relevant ministries of the member and observer states.

As the outcome, Declaration of the 1st meeting of Ministers in charge of Family and Social Policy of the OTS was signed and the OTS Working Group for Social Cooperation was established.
