Azerbaijani PM, Uzbek president discuss deeper strategic partnership
During an official visit to Uzbekistan, Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov met with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Tashkent, with a key emphasis of their discussions being the mutual desire to elevate their relationship to an alliance level, signifying a deeper strategic partnership.
Asadov conveyed heartfelt greetings and good wishes from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to President Mirziyoyev. The high-level meeting focused on crucial matters aimed at further expanding and strengthening the existing ties between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The sides expressed satisfaction with the fruitful joint efforts made within the framework of the "Year of Economic Cooperation", highlighting the positive trajectory of their economic partnership. Looking ahead, officials underscored the critical importance of sustained close cooperation between their respective governments.
This ongoing collaboration is intended to ensure the effective implementation of current agreements and to foster the development of new initiatives in preparation for an upcoming high-level summit between the two nations.
In this context, specific attention was given to the need for highly effective outcomes from the forthcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Forum of Regions, events seen as pivotal in solidifying the future direction of Uzbek-Azerbaijani cooperation.
