Houthi forces claim attacks on Israeli city, US ship in Red Sea

Spokesman for the Houthi armed forces Yahya Saree has announced that the Ansar Allah militant group, known as the Houthis, conducted missile and drone strikes targeting "important targets" in the Israeli city of Eilat and a US ship named Pumba in the Red Sea.

The attacks, utilizing ballistic missiles and UAVs, were described as a response to perceived aggression from the US, UK, and Israel, Caliber.Az reports citing the Russian media.

The Israeli Air Force retaliated by targeting a port controlled by the Houthis in Yemen on July 20, resulting in injuries and damage to oil facilities and a power plant in Hodeidah.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu justified the airstrikes as a response to a previous drone attack by the Houthis on Tel Aviv. The Houthis condemned Israel's actions as aggression and vowed retaliation.

Reports have surfaced suggesting that the Houthis aim to escalate tensions in the Red Sea region, potentially impacting Western interests.
