Netherlands allocates $206 million in loans to Ukraine
The Kingdom of the Netherlands has allocated €200 million [$206.6 million]in loans to Ukraine, which through the IMF will be spent on the daily needs of the country's public sector, including the payment of salaries.
A representative of the Dutch government made the statement during the international conference on the restoration of Ukraine, which is taking place in Lugano, Switzerland, on July 5, Ukrinform reports.
"Continuing our efforts to address the most urgent financial needs of Ukraine, I announce today that we have provided another € 200 million of financial assistance. This is a loan that will be sent to a special account of the IMF. The money will be spent on the daily needs of the authorities of Ukraine, for example, salaries of civil servants, school teachers, medical workers," the Dutch government representative said.
The official said this will be another contribution of Amsterdam to the preliminary financial support of Kyiv, which currently amounts to €140 million [$144.5 million]
She stressed that the Netherlands attaches great importance to the problem of impunity and supports the punishment of Russian war criminals who commit crimes in Ukraine.
"As a country where the International Criminal Court is located, we are ready to support Ukraine in its efforts to seek justice and accountability for those who committed war crimes," the representative of the Dutch government stressed.
As reported, the international conference on the restoration of Ukraine is being held in the Swiss city of Lugano on July 4-5 with the participation of Ukrainian and international politicians, leaders of the EU and international organisations, international financial structures, etc.
