Fifty Azerbaijani students to receive training in Israel

Baku and Tel Aviv have signed an accord for one-year training of 50 Azerbaijani students in Israel.

Israeli ambassador George Deek made the remarks on his official Twitter account on July 6.

"An MOU was signed between a leading Israeli agricultural centre (AICAT) and Azerbaijan State Agricultural University, sending 50 Az students to Israel for a 1-year training. This comes as a result of mutual visits of ministers of agriculture. Another milestone in our relations," the ambassador said.

To recap, during Azerbaijani Digital Development and Transport Minister Rashad Nabiyev's June visit to Israel, an agreement was signed between the ministry's Electronic Security Service and the well-known Israeli Technion University.

Over the next three years, the Azerbaijan Cyber Security Centre, which will begin operations based on the newly signed agreement, will train over 1,000 specialists.

The relevant faculty of the Technion University in Baku will provide training as part of the programme. Admission to the programme will be announced in the near future.

During the 44-day second Karabakh war, Israel was among the first countries to express support for Azerbaijan's just position and territorial integrity. Azerbaijan expressed its willingness to involve Israel in the restoration of the country's newly liberated territories in January 2021. As a result, Israel will construct a buffalo farm in Azerbaijan's liberated Zangilan region.

Azerbaijan established its first Trade and Tourism Representative Office in Israel in 2021.
