Russian official threatens US with taking Alaska back
Speaker of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin has said that the US should not dispose of Russian resources abroad as Russia has something to get back.
He made the statement at the State Duma’s plenary session on July 6, Gazeta.Ru informs.
“Decency is not a weakness; we always have something to answer with. Let America always remember, there is a part of the territory there - Alaska, that is, when they start trying to dispose of our resources abroad, before doing this, they will think that we also have something to return,” Volodin noted.
Likewise, the Russian Parliament speaker commented on the situation around the blockade by Norway of the Russian archipelago Svalbard – when after the intention of the State Duma to accept an instruction to denounce the agreement with Norway on cooperation in the Barents Sea, Oslo began to allow Russian containers to enter the archipelago.
