Ambassador: COP29 to boost Germany's engagement in Azerbaijan's business sector

The upcoming 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Baku is expected to enhance Germany's involvement in Azerbaijan's business sector.

German Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Ralf Horlemann, made this statement at an event organized by the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce, as per Report.

Horlemann also expressed pride in Azerbaijan hosting COP29.

Referring to the record number of visas received by Azerbaijanis for travelling to Germany last year, Horlemann noted that an increase in this indicator in the coming years could significantly stimulate the development of bilateral relations between the two countries.

The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) will be held in Azerbaijan's capital Baku in November this year. The decision was made at the COP28 plenary meeting held in Dubai on December 11, 2023. Baku will host about 70-80 thousand foreign guests during the event.
