Armenia declares nine Polish football fans wanted over post-match violence in Yerevan
Armenian authorities have issued search warrants for nine Polish nationals following a riot after a football match between Yerevan’s Noah FC and Warsaw’s Legia Warszawa, the country’s Investigative Committee.
The Polish fans were detained on December 12 after rioting at the capital's Vernissage art gallery and then at a restaurant, where the fans caused property damage and engaged in disorderly conduct, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media outlets.
"A criminal case has been opened on charges of hooliganism and physical assault involving 16 individuals. Seven of the suspects have been placed under travel restrictions, while the remaining nine have been declared wanted," the Investigative Committee stated.
Authorities continue to investigate the disturbances linked to the football match.
On December 12, 2025, Armenian authorities detained 17 Polish nationals—supporters of Legia Warszawa—in downtown Yerevan following incidents of public disorder and hooliganism the previous night. The disturbances erupted after Legia’s 2–1 defeat to FC Noah in a UEFA Europa Conference League group-stage match on December 11 at Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium.
