Congratulating Kassissieh on his appointment, Khachaturyan described the moment as historic.
“You are the first ambassador, and this is yet another historic fact. I am confident that our relations will gain new momentum, and together we will seek ways and opportunities that will allow us to contribute to overcoming the current situation,” the president said.
Khachaturyan underscored the importance of establishing peace in Palestine, as well as achieving lasting peace in Armenia and across the wider region.
For his part, Kassissieh pledged to make every effort to strengthen bilateral ties between Armenia and Palestine across all areas, with particular emphasis on culture, education and healthcare.
