Armenia–Russia relations at “unprecedentedly high level”, Pashinyan says
During a government Q&A session in parliament, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said that relations between Yerevan and Moscow are at an “unprecedentedly high level.”
According to him, this is reflected in regular meetings and telephone conversations at the highest level, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
The statement came amid criticism from the leader of the “Strong Armenia” party, Samvel Karapetyan, who suggested the possibility of an economic conflict between the two countries in the event of a victory by the current authorities in elections.
“I am in constant working contact with both the resident of Russia and the prime minister. This gives special substance to our relations. Those who try to provoke conflict are essentially seeking to paralyze the EAEU and are acting in their own short-term interests,” Pashinyan said.
The prime minister noted that Armenia has not quarrelled and does not intend to quarrel with Russia, describing attempts to sow discord between the two countries as ineffective. He also said that following his latest visit to Moscow, strategic agreements were reached in various areas, the implementation of which will become visible in the near future.
