Armenia’s 2026 budget excludes funding for Nakhchivan railway repairs
Armenia’s draft state budget for 2026 does not include funds for the repair of the railway line from Yeraskh to the border with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan provided the information while presenting his ministry’s budget proposals to parliamentary committees, Caliber.Az reports per Armenian media.
Answering lawmakers’ questions, Khudatyan clarified that no financing has been allocated for preparing the railway infrastructure in anticipation of a possible reopening of transport routes in the region.
He added that matters relating to coordination with the United States on infrastructure management in the Megrin region fall under the responsibility of Vice Prime Minister Mger Grigoryan’s office.
