Iran says situation remains unstable after fighting pause
Iran remains in an unstable “neither war nor peace” situation despite the halt in active fighting, Interior Ministry spokesperson Ali Zeinivand said, calling on executive bodies to take practical measures to stabilise conditions and improve people’s livelihoods and peace of mind.
He urged the public not to pay attention to rumours or unverified reports, adding: “We are waiting for the war to end so we can announce the election calendar.”
Zeinivand stated that Iran’s armed forces remain at full readiness, noting that their level of preparedness has risen sharply since the start of the war in February and is now “at the highest level.”
He also said the government is working to ensure the supply of basic goods despite obstacles at the country’s southern borders, instead using eastern, western, and northern crossings.
According to the spokesperson, provincial governors have been granted “important and unprecedented” authority to help supply essential goods and raw materials for workshops and industries, including through cooperation with neighbouring provinces and countries.
“Our country cannot be blockaded,” he said, adding that authorities have no concerns about maintaining supplies of basic goods following the expansion of governors’ powers.
