Armenia’s FM, French Senate President discuss South Caucasus peace in Paris
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan held talks in Paris on October 23 with Gérard Larcher, President of the French Senate, to discuss the prospects for peace in the South Caucasus and the deepening of Armenian–French relations.
According to Armenia’s Foreign Ministry, the meeting was also attended by Cédric Perrin, Chair of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Armed Forces; Gilbert-Luc Devinaz, Chair of the France–Armenia Friendship Group; and Alain Cadec, Vice Chairman of the Committee on European Affairs, Caliber.Az reports per Armenian media.
The sides exchanged views on the development of the strategic partnership between Armenia and France, noting that the rapidly evolving relationship now spans all key sectors. They also discussed further steps to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Mirzoyan briefed his French counterparts on the latest developments in the South Caucasus, outlining Armenia’s vision for the region’s future in the context of achieving peace with Azerbaijan.
He underlined the potential for the South Caucasus to emerge as an important communications hub once lasting stability is established.
