Armenia, Türkiye deepen diplomatic engagement in Istanbul Pashinyan and Erdogan meet for high-stakes talks
A high-level meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan commenced on June 20 in Istanbul, marking a significant step in the ongoing dialogue aimed at normalising relations between the two neighbouring countries.
The talks are taking place in a narrow format at the Dolmabahce Palace, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
Prime Minister Pashinyan arrived in Türkiye earlier today at the invitation of President Erdoğan, making this his first working visit to the country. Pashinyan previously visited Ankara in June 2023 to attend Erdoğan’s inauguration ceremony.
Accompanying the Armenian Prime Minister are several senior officials, including Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan, and Parliament Vice Speaker Ruben Rubinyan, who also serves as Armenia’s special envoy in the process of normalising ties with Türkiye.
