Armenia, US explore South Caucasus security
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has met with Michael Carpenter, Special Assistant to the US President and Senior Director for Europe at the National Security Council, to discuss regional security issues in Yerevan.
A statement by Armenian Foreign Ministry highlighted the country's efforts to establish peace in the South Caucasus and addressed recent discussions regarding the regulation of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, Caliber.Az reports.
"Ararat Mirzoyan and Michael Carpenter discussed regional stability and security issues during their meeting.
The Armenian Foreign Minister highlighted Armenia's efforts to establish peace in the South Caucasus and referenced recent discussions aimed at normalizing relations with Azerbaijan. In this context, Minister Mirzoyan emphasized Armenia's commitment to achieving lasting peace in the region. He noted that Armenia's position is clearly reflected in its readiness to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan as soon as possible, as well as in its vision for fostering economic development in the area," the statement by the ministry noted.
