Armenian messenger Zangi says Russia blocks 90% of its service
14 November 2025 11:29
Vahram Martirosyan, the founder of the Armenian messenger Zangi, reported on his Facebook page that the app is facing even stricter blocks in Russia.
According to his data, Zangi is now non-functional in approximately 90% of the country’s territory, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
Restrictions on the service are also being observed in Algeria, Indonesia, India, Uganda, and the UAE.
“By this measure, we are the most persecuted,” Martirosyan said. He emphasised that during the blocks, Zangi disables even the ability to send text messages, unlike WhatsApp and Telegram, where restrictions apply only to voice calls.
