Armenian opposition not to "start resistance movement" for Karabakh
Armenian opposition will not "start a resistance movement" for Karabakh.
On May 20, a group of MPs from [former Armenian President Robert] Kocharyan's parliamentary faction Armenia will visit the Syunik region’s (Zangazur – ed.) Kornidzor community to join a rally organised by the public organisation Voluntary Movement of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation [ARF] Dashnaktsutyun, Caliber.Az reports, citing Yerevan-based Armenian newspaper Hraparak.
"The fact is that the parliamentary opposition needs to save its face. Despite the fact that developments around Karabakh are approaching a climax, they are not going to start a resistance movement.
Our sources give different reasons. One of them is that they hand over the arena to those who ridicule their struggle and criticize them for privatizing the street. But the Armenia bloc tries to hide its passivity behind small actions, for example, visiting the regions and participating in small protest actions, [ARF member] Ishkhan Saghatelyan and others periodically declare that the people need to be prepared for an uprising, they say that the struggle is not over. And the Republican Party of Armenia (ex-President Serzh Sargsyan – ed.) and I Have Honour bloc are even more passive," the newspaper says.
