Armenian PM declares “first year of peace” since independence
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that 2025 marks “the first time we have peace” in the country since gaining independence.
“2025 is the first calendar year since independence in which we have had no deaths or injuries as a result of clashes with Azerbaijan,” Pashinyan said, highlighting the unprecedented period of stability in the region.
In addition to his remarks on peace, Pashinyan confirmed that the ruling Civil Contract Party has once again nominated him as its candidate for the position of Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.
“I express my gratitude to all members of the Electoral Commission, led by its chair Hakob Arshakyan, for organizing two rounds of secret voting at a high level and, essentially, flawlessly,” Pashinyan said.
He also thanked his party colleagues for their continued trust. “I am honored to lead the Civil Contract Party’s electoral list and to be nominated once again as the candidate for the position of Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia,” he added.
Pashinyan further expressed appreciation to the Civil Contract Party Board, noting their commitment to political traditions and their role in “establishing a new political standard in the Republic of Armenia.”
