Armenian premier calls for self-criticism Urges colleagues “not to confuse apples with oranges”
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan urged members of his ruling party, "Civil Contract," to engage in self-criticism and focus on improving governance during a meeting of the party's initiative group on September 19.
Pashinyan emphasized the need for clearer decision-making processes and avoiding common pitfalls in the fight against corruption and personnel management, Caliber.Az reports citing a statement released by the press service of the Armenia's ruling party.
Key issues discussed during the meeting included enhancing anti-corruption efforts and refining the party’s personnel policy. National Assembly deputies Arpi Davoyan and Lusine Badalyan delivered reports outlining the current challenges and the necessary steps to overcome them.
In a post on his Telegram channel following the meeting, Pashinyan provided further insights into the discussions.
"Today was a day of self-criticism at 'Civil Contract,'" Pashinyan wrote. "We focused on our failures in combating corruption, in the judicial and legal spheres, and in personnel policy. It is crucial that we acknowledge our shortcomings and work to correct them."
One of Pashinyan's key messages was the importance of precision in addressing governance challenges. "We concluded that mistakes should be corrected without 'confusing apples with oranges,'" he stressed, urging his colleagues to adopt a more structured approach moving forward.
