Armenian saboteur on trial in Azerbaijan denies what happened
The trial of Armenian saboteur, Voskanyan Gagik Ashoti, detained in Kalbajar, is continuing.
The court session is being chaired by Abdulla Mammadov, judge of the Ganja Serious Crimes Court, according to Trend.
The indictment was announced at the court session.
The indictment states that the preliminary investigation established that Gagik Ashoti Voskanyan, as part of a group of persons, who had entered into a conspiracy in advance, tried to commit the deliberate murder of two or more persons, who were in the performance of official duties (that is, the deliberate deprivation of life as a result of terrorism, as well as national hatred and enmity).
To violate public security in Azerbaijan, creating panic among the population and influencing decision-making by government bodies, as well as endangering people's lives, causing harm to their health, as well as significant property and other social damages, Voskanyan, as part of a group of people, committed terrorism using firearms.
Together with other persons, who had previously entered into a conspiracy, without established documents and outside checkpoints, he crossed the protected state border of Azerbaijan and secretly transported firearms and ammunition into the country.
With particular cruelty, he committed actions aimed at inciting national hatred and enmity, and also illegally acquired, stored, and transported firearms, their components, and ammunition as part of a group of people, who had previously agreed.
The accused stated that he did not remember what had happened.
