Azerbaijan advances talks on creation of green energy zone in liberated territories

A regular meeting of the Working Group on coordination and monitoring regarding the application of green technologies and energy efficiency requirements in the liberated territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan took place at the Ministry of Energy.

The meeting was attended not only by employees from state institutions that are part of the working group but also by representatives from the special representative offices of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Construction and Management Restoration Service, Azəriqaz Production Union, Azəristiliktəchizat OJSC, and the Social Development Fund for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), Caliber.Az reports.

Chairing the meeting, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov highlighted the significant progress made under the order of President Ilham Aliyev toward establishing a “green energy” zone in the liberated territories. He emphasized the strategic goals set in this area, reinforcing the commitment to sustainable energy practices.

The meeting also included a report on the monitoring results regarding the application of green technologies and energy efficiency in the liberated territories.

In addition, various other pertinent issues were discussed, aiming to enhance the implementation of energy-efficient practices in these regions.

All cities and villages in the liberated territories are designated for the use of green energy. According to the developed concept for creating solar and wind power plants in the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions, the electricity consumed in these territories will come exclusively from renewable energy sources, already yielding positive results.
