30 September 2025 10:08

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Culture, Adil Karimli, is leading his country’s delegation at the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development (MONDIACULT 2025), which is taking place in Barcelona from September 29 to October 1.

The three-day forum, organised by UNESCO, brings together government leaders, policymakers, and cultural experts to discuss strategies for advancing cultural policy in the face of emerging global challenges, Caliber.Az reports per the Culture Ministry.

At the official opening ceremony, speakers underscored the importance of the event, outlining its objectives and highlighting the tasks ahead in adapting cultural policy to new realities. The session was followed by a concert programme.

As part of the conference, the 3rd High-Level Ministerial Dialogue of the "Group of Friends for Culture-Based Climate Action” was also held on September 29, where Minister Karimli delivered remarks on Azerbaijan’s approach to integrating cultural policy into climate-related initiatives.

MONDIACULT 2025 builds on UNESCO’s long-standing efforts to promote culture as a driver of sustainable development and international cooperation.
